Greta K. Harris 76, of Macomb
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Greta K. Harris on July 6, 2026, at the age of 76.
Born on August 7, 1949 in Macomb, Illinois, to Marvin and Phyllis (Bice) Hornbaker. Greta lived a life filled with love, kindness and devotion to her family and friends. She was widely known for her caring heart and generous spirit. Greta resided in Matteson for many years before returning to Macomb, where she lived for 18 years. She touched many lives during her 35-year career as an elementary school teacher.
She is lovingly survived by her children: Brett (Brandi) Harris of Tinley Park, Illinois; Bart (Lacey) Harris of Cary, Illinois; and Brittany (Bill) Fraley of Manhattan, Illinois. She is also survived by nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Harris and her parents.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the memories she gave us and the love she shared so freely. Her kindness, strength and unwavering love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Papa Joe’s, 944 E. 9th Street, Lockport, Illinois 60441
