It’s time for block parties and summer fun, and St. Paul School has just the thing for kids and grown-ups.
The annual St. Paul School Raising Saints Block Party will kick off at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 25, with free kids’ activities in the St. Paul School parking lot through noon, including bounce houses/inflatables, a foam party, water activities and snow cones. The fun continues for adults 21 and older, from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the St. Paul School playground, with music by Tim Harting, followed by Jonny Lackey and the Pocket Aces. A bar will be available, and the Knights of Columbus will be grilling. Tickets are $15 per person in advance, with food and beverage tickets available for sale on site.
Last year over $10,000 was donated to Loaves and Fishes, WIU Office of Public Safety helmets for kids, McDonough District Hospital teddy bear program, McDonough County School Resource Officer program, Macomb Police Department School Resource officer program, YMCA sports scholarships, Sleep in Heavenly Peace beds for kids and St. Paul School.
The first Raising Saints Block Party was held in 2017 (the event took a twoyear break during the pandemic). Since its inception, the event has raised more than $55,000, which stays in McDonough County.
