MACOMB FARMER’S MARKET
Fuzzy Little Dudes
Shelbie Hook is a new Macomb Summer Farmers vendor and has already made up her mind to also set up a booth at the winter market. A London Mills native, Hook hand makes knitted pet beds, blankets and stuffed animals. She got started when she wanted a full sized knitted blanket and the cost was prohibitive, so she made her own.
Shelbie uses a knitting method that requires no tools called “finger knitting”.
Her products are washable and the stuffed animals have “sewn in” eyes so as not to be a choking risk for young children. Her popular stuffed toys include elephants, dinosaurs, cats etc. Her 20-inch tall dinosaur stuffed toy costs around $35, so Fuzzly Little Dudes would be a good business to keep in mind for economical Christmas gifts.
Shelbie’s husband is supportive of her business and the couple may have plans to some day expand to something bigger, perhaps one day a craft store. For now, in addition to Macomb Farmers Market, the Hooks will be setting up on the Spoon River Drive in London Mills. She may also consider the Macomb Altrusa, some fiber shows, and Shelbie has spoken with Prairie Moon Farms in Knoxville.
Fuzzy Little Dudes got its name when Shelbie and her husband were trying to choose a name for her stuffed animals, and her husband said “well, they’re just fuzzy little dudes !” The name for their business was born.
Fuzzy Little Dudes has a Facebook page and can also be reached at the email shelbhook2017@ gmail.com. They do take custom orders and the wait time depends on if she has the specific yarn colors on hand.

A new pattern of a rainbow chameleon and it will make its first appearance this week at the farmers market.
