Colchester to Bushnell BNSF Repair Begins

BNSF will repair 17-18 miles of the railroad bed between west of Colchester to Bushnell during the next few weeks, according to a BNSF spokesperson. Dozens of specialized machines and workers are replacing old railroad ties with new, with equipment then tamping in the new ties and reconditioning the aggregate covering. In Colchester, workers are replacing several crossing platforms to create a smoother surface, and railroad bed repairs are also being made to the sidings. Macomb will likely be experiencing crossing closures while equipment is moved, as well as for repairs.
