Merlin E. Davis

of Bushnell

Merlin E. Davis passed away at his home on his 47-acre property, where he lived a life that was uniquely his own. He valued his independence and found comfort in a quieter life, preferring simple moments and the freedom to do things his own way. While he chose a solitary path and was not closely connected with family in his later years, he found meaning in simple routines, quiet mornings, and moments that often went unnoticed by others.

Merlin was known for his ornery, dry sense of humor.

He enjoyed teasing, delivering a perfectly timed one-liner, and keeping people guessing whether he was joking or not.

Those who knew him appreciated his wit, his unique perspective, and the unmistakable personality that made him one of a kind.

He had a lifelong appreciation for martial arts and admired the discipline, skill, and philosophy they represented.

Merlin was preceded in death by his mother, Ursula (Sue) Davis. (Bessert), his father, Lyle Davis, and his son Wm.

Leigh Ericson.

In accordance with his Last Will and Testament, Merlin directed that his entire estate be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Those wishing to honor his memory may make memorial contributions to the hospital in his name.

Merlin will be remembered for his independent spirit, his unmistakable sense of humor, and the unique way he left his mark on those whose lives he touched. Though he leaves behind not a crowd of mourners, his life is a reminder that every person has value, everybody has a soul, every heart has a story, and every life deserves to be remembered. May he finally find the peace, acceptance, and belonging that may have seemed just out of reach during his time here.

May God grant him eternal rest and everlasting peace.

Per Merlin’s wishes there will be no services. Martin-Hollis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Please sign the guestbook and leave condolences at www.martinhollisfh. com.
