Beckner

23, of Bushnell

In Loving Memory of Keagan James David Beckner It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Keagan James David Beckner, who passed away on June 26, 2026, at the age of 23.

Keagan was born on December 2, 2002, he was a young man whose kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for those around him left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He had an incredible ability to make people smile with his goofy personality, quick wit, and joyful spirit. Whether he was making others laugh, sharing stories, or simply enjoying time with family and friends, Keagan truly was the life of the party.

Family meant everything to Keagan. He cherished every moment spent with those he loved and never missed an opportunity to remind them how much they meant to him.

His greatest joy was found in the people closest to him. He loved Emma, his girlfriend, with all of his heart, and his love extended to his beloved guinea pigs, Trigger and Navi, and cats, who brought him endless happiness. Keagan possessed a heart of gold, one filled with compassion, loyalty, and genuine care for others.

Keagan had a deep passion for writing and storytelling.

He attended Western Illinois University, where he was pursuing a degree in English Education with the dream of becoming a professor, after graduation in May of 2027. He hoped to inspire future generations through literature and writing, sharing with students the same appreciation for language that had shaped his own life. Music was another of Keagan’s greatest passions; ‘Motionless in White & Ice Nine Kills’ were his favorite bands. He loved playing his guitar, often learning the newest songs from artists he admired.

Whether listening to music, attending concerts, or discovering a new favorite band, he found joy and connected with those around him. Keagan also enjoyed playing video games, especially anticipating the release of new titles. He was equally excited when a new scary movie premiered, always eager to experience the thrill and share it with family and friends. His enthusiasm was contagious, and his excitement over the things he loved made others excited too. Above all, Keagan treasured his friendships. He built meaningful relationships through his kindness, loyalty, and ability to make others feel accepted. His friends became family, and the memories they shared will forever be cherished.

Keagan will be deeply missed by his mother and father, Chris & Angie Beckner; his sister, Amanda (Zach Seaver) Beckner, his brother, Drake Beckner, his niece Isabelle Mary Seaver; his girlfriend, Emma Carson; paternal grandparents Ronnie & Kathy Beckner and maternal grandmother Sandra Rankin; his paternal aunt Heather Beckner, his maternal aunts and uncles are Melissa Hayward, Chris (Tami) Jones, Teri (Gale Griffith) Jones; his cousins: Brandon Nott, Bryant (Morgan Groff) Nott, Amber (Josh) Huitt, Krystal (Colby) West, Amanda (Michael) Shegich, Ashley (Jason) Ryle, and many additional cousins/family, his many cherished friends; and all whose lives he touched. His memory will forever remind us to laugh often, love deeply, embrace those we care about, and never take a single moment for granted.
