The Rotary of Macomb meets Tuesdays at noon at the First Presbyterian Church.
June 30, 2026 President Seth Minter called the Rotary Club’s 52nd week special social meeting to order with the ringing of the Rotary Bell at the Macomb Country Club. Seth delivered the invocation, and Bob Baumann led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Purpose of the Social Meeting The 5th Tuesday Social honored the outgoing officers, marked the start of a new Rotary year, and welcomed three new members into the club. The meeting also recognized four scholarship recipients whose awards were funded through the club and proceeds from last year’s annual raffle.
New Member Induction President Seth invited the three new members and their sponsors forward for the induction ceremony:
• Adam Kestner of Golden, IL, whose biography was read by his sponsor, Tom Stites.
• Jimmie Koller of Macomb, whose biography was read by his co-sponsor, Todd Lester.
• Will Woods of Macomb, whose biography was read by his co-sponsor, Dennis Iversen.
Seth then formally inducted the three gentlemen as the newest members of the Rotary Club of Macomb.
Scholarship Recognition
Ryan Van Dolah introduced the four scholarship recipients. Two recipients were present, they were Abigail Starbuck who will be attending Spoon River College and Rozalia also attending Spoon River College. Rozalia was traveling to her home country and her host parents, Brandon and Kelly Nelson accepted her scholarship. The two other recipients, Jonny Castro and Maicyn Shipman who will both be attending Western Illinois University were unable to attend.
Recognition of Outgoing Leadership Seth recognized the officers, board members, and committee members who supported him during his presidential year. He reviewed the many accomplishments achieved during the 2025–2026 Rotary year, presented gifts in appreciation, and received a standing ovation for his leadership.
Passing of the Gavel The final item was the passing of the gavel to incoming President Nick Knowles, whose term was to begin July 1, 2026. Nick accepted the gavel and said he would do his best to follow the strong example Seth had set during the past year.
The meeting concluded with the recitation of the “Four-Way Test” and the sounding of the Rotary bell, encouraging all members to make Rotary Part Of Their Life – and to “Unite For Good”.
