Kids Bowl Free as Part of Digger’s Summer Bowling Program

Macomb-area children can enjoy a daily dose of summer fun – and get some exercise at the same time - at Digger's College City Bowl (CCB) as part of the national Kids Bowl Free program.

By registering at kidsbowlfree. com/diggers, children ages two-15, can bowl two free games on eligible days and times at Digger's through Aug. 29. Once registered, an email will be sent containing the coupon for the two free daily games per child. While the two games are free, shoe rental rates will apply. Digger's joins over 1,300 other alleys throughout the U.S. for the national program. The Macomb bowling alley's hours are posted on the registration site, and the Kids Bowl Free program is open Wednesday Saturday at Digger's. In addition, family passes are also available for $34.95 at the kidsbowlfree.com website, which allows up to four adults to play alongside their children daily.

According to Kristi Dakin, Digger’s College City Bowl joined the national Kids Bowl Free program in Summer 2019. But even before that, the Macomb mainstay had done their own promotions and specials for several years to draw children and families into the bowling alley during the summer months.

'Digger's has always been active supporters of many groups, schools and activities during the year, and we're excited to join this great national summer bowling program for kids,' Dakin added. 'There is no down side to this program as it's free to sign up kids 15 and under.

The summer bowling program began May 27, and since that time, Dakin says approximately 160 kids have bowled using their coupons so far. There are 514 kids and 27 family passes signed up for the program specifically at Digger's CCB.

'Bowling is an excellent activity for kids and adults alike that promotes physical fitness, motor skills and hand-eye coordination. It also builds patience, confidence and focus while teaching valuable social skills and sportsmanship in a supportive, low-pressure environment,' she added. 'Digger’s offers bowling leagues for adults and kids, with our leagues typically being around the start of the school year.'

Youth bowling leagues take place on Saturday mornings, at a reduced cost. For more information about the summer program, or bowling leagues, stop in at 123 E. Adams St., or call (309)837-1252. 'We appreciate the continued support and patronage of all our customers, past and present,' Kristi concluded.
