Tri-County Solid Waste & Recycling Seeking Public Input
As part of the Tri-County Solid Waste and Recycling Plan for McDonough, Mercer, and Warren counties, the agency is seeking public input regarding current waste and recycling services, future needs, and community priorities.
The survey can be found at tinyurl.com/ jedahzhh. Feedback received will help guide planning efforts and future recommendations related to waste management, recycling accessibility, education, cleanup programs and environmental sustainability throughout the region.
Tri-County Regional Collection Facility (TCRCF) in Macomb, IL, is your local dropoff center for hazardous waste, electronics, and specialty recyclables. Managed by the Western Illinois Regional Council, it diverts items like paint and e-waste from local landfills. The collection facility, located at 129 W. Jackson St. in Macomb, IL (enter on the south side facing West Washington Street), is open from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Tuesday- Friday and from 8 a.m.-noon, the first Saturday of every month. Accepted items include electronics (televisions, computers, laptops, cell phones, copiers, game consoles, and cables); household items: household batteries, fluorescent lamps/CFLs); and oilbased and latex paint.
