Raymond L. Peterson

73, of Macomb

Raymond L. Peterson, 73, of Macomb passed away at 4:10 p.m. Friday afternoon, June 5, 2026 at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb.

Ray was born on October 7, 1952 in Omaha, Nebraska to John W. Peterson and Norma Darlene (Dasher) Peterson. He married Sherry D. Parry (Litchfield) on November 21, 1977 in Macomb. Ray grew up and attended school in Plattsmouth, Nebraska.

Ray attended Western Illinois University graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Park and Recreation. Ray worked for the Park District for over 40 years starting out in maintenance and retiring as Executive Director in 2016.

Ray is survived by his mother and sister, Wendy (Jack) Quimby of Plattsmouth, NE, his wife, Sherry and their three children: Stacie Thompson of Macomb, Rebecca Wayland of Ashland, IL and Trevor Peterson of Chicago.
