Deanna Kaye Truelove

85, of Blandinsville

Deanna Kaye Truelove, 85, of Blandinsville, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa.

Deanna was born December 20, 1940 in Fountain Green, Illinois, the daughter of Loyd L. and Nancy (Moore) Breiner. She was raised in the Blandsinville area and graduated from Blandinsville High School in 1958. Shortly after high school, she moved to Galesburg, where she met her future husband, Don E. Truelove. On November 14, 1959 they were married at the Old Bedford Church parsonage, near Blandinsville. Don preceded her in death on October 9, 2011. Early in their marriage they lived in Victoria, Illinois, until returning to the Blandinsville area in 1973. Deanna worked numerous jobs throughout her life, in addition to being a farm wife.

She enjoyed arts and crafts, and loved all animals, especially her horses and numerous dogs. She will be remembered for helping many friends and family members whenever the need arose.

Survivors include two children: Carrie (Martin Hernandez) Truelove-Hernandez of Kingman, Arizona and Brian (Scott Mozingo) Truelove of Cary, North Carolina; two grandchildren: Jasper and Sean Hernandez four sisters: Pauline Jones of LaHarpe, Charlene Wilson of Blandinsville, Patricia Huston of New Boston and Jo (Don “Buck”) Frye of Muscatine and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother Lloyd “Gene” Breiner and eight sisters: Dorothy Plank, Louise Thompson, Thelma Figg, Virginia Kerfoot, Wyvonne Byers, Joy Byers, Lucille Luton and Marilyn Cahill.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2026 at the LaHarpe Cemetery, with Rev. A. Lee Unger officiating.
