The McDonough District Hospital recently announced the MDH Health Scholarship deadline has been extended to Friday, June 12.
MDH offers seven scholarships, ranging from $500 to $5,000, for those pursuing a career in healthcare.
Those include the Winona Winter Scholarship, established in 2021. This scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing nursing.
The scholarship is in the amount of $5000. Maxine Simeral Scholarship, established in 2010. This annual scholarship will be awarded to an applicant pursuing a health career, not limited to nursing.
Gayle and Ron Peterson Nursing Scholarship, established in 2007 is awarded to a student pursuing an RN degree. The scholarship is $1000 per year. Recipient may not be a nursing student pursuing an advanced degree such as a masters nurse practitioner or CRNA Carolyn J Baumann Nursing Scholarship was established in 2014 in honor of Carolyn J. Baumann, RN. A $500 scholarship awarded annually to an applicant pursuing a BSN at WIU. The student must be a junior or senior and reside in McDonough or Hancock Counties.
