What a great time to be alive! Now with all of that said, please be mindful while traveling the roads. Yes, kids are in the street walking and riding bikes (adults as well!), so slow down and be mindful.

It's impossible to satisfy everyone all the time - impossible. However, what we do have is the power to satisfy ourselves with our attitude and our actions. You don't like the way something is being done - contact those doing it directly, don't put your fears and demands on the Internet - this most definitely gets everyone all riled up and defensive. Does any action for the better come of it? Hardly ever. Keyboard warriors and armchair quarterbacks unite.....never a winning situation. Are you lonely and needing friends or a purpose? Find a group or organization and make positive changes for YOURSELF. I can positively guarantee that complaining about most anything on the internet will rarely if ever make a change happen. I've seen posts where folks are complaining about something that hasn't even happened yet - poor service, bad food - whatever their complaint is. Why not see what happens when they open or close or whatever is going to happen? Your complaint/opinion is important but give it to the person/business directly when it happens - not 3 months down the line on Facebook when they are trying to do something nice for a community. What a novel idea. I don't have all the answers - or even any answers. What I'm offering is common sense and perhaps a little pride in yourself for not being that person. Unfortunately, my post will probably not make any difference at all - just my 2 cents.

I’ve missed some important information here lately, so let me try and catch-up: Good Hope Gardens’ shop will be opening tomorrow, 6/3/2026. Such a great stop for the best garden veg and local meat and eggs! Grover and Mary Jo will make sure you get the best – you won’t be disappointed!!

I am unsure of the opening date at the Bushnell Community Pool – some plumbing issues to be resolved soon! They are still in need of help for the concession stand, please text (217)549-9087 if you can help.

Updated hours on the Reid Brewer Splash Pad – open from 1-5 daily.

“Each morning is a fresh start, a chance to reset and choose how you will approach the day ahead. Instead of rushing through the motions, take a few moments to breathe and ground yourself. Reflect on all the good in your life – the people you love, the blessings big and small, the simple fact that you are alive. Cultivating gratitude from the moment you wake sets a positive tone for your entire day, boosting your mood, resilience and attracting more good things your way. Make gratitude a morning ritual and watch your world brighten.”

Stay safe-Robin
