The West Prairie High School trap team headed to Brittany Shooting Park in Bunker Hill this past weekend to take part in the Illinois State High School Clay Target League Class 2A State Tournament.
A total of 24 athletes represented West Prairie in the event that included 738 athletes and 31 teams.
“We had a fantastic day and continued to show growth across multiple seasons,” said West Prairie trap coach Corky Biswell. “It was definitely a great day to be a Cyclone!”

Novice Female (41 shooters) Kaylee Jackson, 17th, 36-26-62 Novice Male (63 shooters) Jake Wisslead, 57th, 26-20-46 Percy, a junior, earned a straight-run 50, with Hofmeister, also a junior, and Stanberry, a sophomore earning straight-run 25s.
Stanberry also earned a new personal record (PR), while Kaylee Jackson, Cody Peters and Kendrick Welsh tied their previous PRs.
Thirteen members outperformed their spring season averages during the state tournament: Hocker, Hofmeister, Kaylee Jackson, Kindhart, Percy, Cameron Peters, Cody Peters, Reed, Sartorius, Stanberry, Kenadie Webster, Welsh, and Jack Zimmerman.
Fifteen of the 20 returning state team members outperformed their 2025 state performance: Butler (+7), Finch (+2), Fowler (+3), Hofmeister (+8), Carlee Jackson (+4), Kaylee Jackson (+8), Kindhart (+20), Percy (+14), Cameron Peters (+9), Cody Peters (+15), Reed (+12), Sartorius (+1), Stanberry (+56), Kenadie Webster (+5), Welsh (+7), Charlie Zimmerman (+6), and Jack Zimmerman (+12).
