Patti A. Smith, 78, of Macomb, Illinois, passed away at 10:32 PM Tuesday May 19, 2026 at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, Illinois.

She was born Aug. 24, 1947 in Beloit, Wisconsin to William and Muriel (Hayes) Wardell; she married Tom Smith on Feb. 24, 2003. He survives.

Also surviving are her step-son Curtis Smith and grandsons, Aaron Baker, Dakota Lewis, Ben Bilderback; sisters, Carol Pitman, Sandy Johnson and several grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by a daughter, Kandy Smith; her brothers, William and Terry Wardell and a sister, Jeannie Christensen.

Cremation has been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday July 25, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Macomb American Legion. Dodsworth Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements Please sign guestbook or leave condolences at www.dodsworthfh. com
