Tax bills for McDonough County residents are in the mail.
The County Treasurer’s office sent bills to the post office Friday, May 22, and expects them to arrive at homes this week, though the U.S. Postal Service has not confirmed delivery dates.
The first installment is due June 22, 2026. The second installment is due September 14, 2026.
Bills are mailed to the address on file with the County Assessor’s Office. Residents who need to update their address should contact the assessor’s office before payment.
Online and Other Payment Options
Residents can access bills online at mcdonoughil.devnetwedge. com and download or print them without visiting the office.
The county offers multiple ways to pay: Online: payments.municipay.com/il_mcdonough/search accepts debit, credit, and ACH (e-check) payments. Convenience fees are 2.5% for cards or $1.50 for ACH.
By phone: Call 309.328.8125. Same convenience fees apply.
By mail: Send to #1 Courthouse Square, Macomb, IL 61455. Envelopes must be postmarked on or before the due date to avoid interest penalties. Do not mail cash or postdated checks. Include your phone number on the check or stub. The county discourages mailing payments near due dates because of postal service postmarking delays.
At local banks: Most McDonough County banks accept payments on or before due dates. Banks cannot accept late payments or late installments.
In person: Pay at the courthouse with cash, check, money order, or debit/credit card. Bring your payment stub. Card payments incur convenience fees.
Drop box: The silver drop box on the south side of the courthouse building accepts payments in envelopes. Do not use cash. Include your phone number on the check or stub.
Escrow Accounts and Email Bills
Residents who received bills through escrow accounts in the past should continue to receive them. It is the resident’s responsibility to send bills to their escrow company for confirmation.
The county does not email bills unless a resident requests one. Emailed bills are copies, not originals, and cannot be processed for payment without the original stub.
