SRC Food Service Manager Certification Course

Spoon River College will offer its food service sanitation manager certification course from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday, June 1 at the SRC Outreach Center in Macomb.

All establishments which serve food must always have one certified person on the premises. In order to obtain a new FSSMC Certificate, individuals must complete an eighthour ServSafe Illinois Department of Public Health-approved course and pass an exam accredited under the standards developed and adopted by the Conference for Food Protection with a score of 75% or better. This course, instructed by I Food Manager (IFM), covers up-to-date information on safe food handling, preparation, food storage, personal hygiene, and the prevention of food borne illnesses. Completion of this course does not guarantee passage of the exam. Students are advised to utilize any study materials provided before attending class. Courses are instructed by Wanda Adkins of IFM.
