Collison “Collin” D. Ring passed away at 3:46 PM Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at the McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, He was born on March 2, 1973 in Beardstown, Illinois, to Dale and Vickie (Collison) Ring. He married Courtenay Cox on February 24, 1996. She Survives.
Collin is also survived by his parents, Dale and Vickie Ring of Rushville, Illinois; daughters, Alyssa and Chelsea Ring both of Macomb, Illinois; sister, Anne (husband Rafe) Breedlove, of Missouri; mother-in-law, Christie; brother-in-law, Dan (wife Nancy); sister-in-law, Julie; nieces and nephews.
Collin graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. He grew up working for the family-owned business Arthur Ring and Sons doing mechanic work and sales. In 2000, he started at Ameren as a meter reader later becoming a journeyman lineman in 2004. He worked for many years as the Line Crew Forman finishing his career as an Electric Troubleman. Collin devoted his life to his family, friends and work. Collin’s selflessness, strong work ethic and willingness to help others will long be remembered.
Funeral services will be held at the Welsey United Methodist Church at 10:30 AM Wednesday May 27, 2026. Pastor Don Long Jr. will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday May 26, 2026 at the Wesley United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Team Gleason Foundation, or ALS United Illinois.
