Carolyn Sue Brush, 77, of Bushnell, Illinois passed away peacefully at The Villas at Bushnell on May 1, 2026 surrounded by her family.
Carolyn was born on July 1, 1948, in Marietta, Illinois to Ivan and Zoanna (Davis) Paul. She is survived by her son, Brent (Kim) Glisan of Bushnell, Illinois; her daughter, Rhonda (Frank) Cadena of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Brush; and one brother, Roger Paul.
Carolyn was a 1966 graduate of Bushnell-Prairie City High School. She dedicated over 44 years of her life working at Maytag. She loved all animals and her passion was in animal rescue. Over the years, she adopted many dogs and cats, providing love to them in their final years.
Carolyn enjoyed camping with her family and friends. Many have fond memories during their time at Spring Lake, including the years she and George served as host campers.
She faithfully attended First Presbyterian Church of Bushnell, and more recently First Baptist Church of Bushnell, and enjoyed the friendships and fellowship she found there.
Cremation rites have been accorded by Martin-Hollis Funeral Home. Graveside memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on June 03, 2026 at the Bushnell Township Cemetery. En lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the McDonough County Animal Shelter or the Bushnell Fire Department.
