McDonough Telephone Cooperative is proud to announce that Addison Bainter, daughter of MTC Board Member Stacy Bainter and Jason Bainter, has been awarded a 2026 Academic Scholarship through the WTA Foundation Scholarship Program.
The WTA Foundation awarded $35,000 in scholarships in 2026 — its largest scholarship distribution since 2008 — recognizing outstanding graduating seniors from rural broadband member companies across the country.
The scholarship program is open to graduating high school seniors who are immediate family members of employees or board members of participating WTA broadband member companies. Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, leadership, character, community involvement, and overall application strength.
A 2026 Macomb High School graduate, Addison received a $2,400 Academic Scholarship in recognition of her achievements, integrity, and commitment to education. After graduation, Addison plans to attend Drake University and double major in Education and Biology.

The WTA Foundation supports educational opportunities for students connected to rural broadband providers and continues to invest in the next generation of leaders through its annual scholarship program.
