Bushnell-Prairie City High School sophomore Jonavan Harrell claimed a sectional title in the long jump and will advance to next week’s Illinois High School Association Class 1A State Track and Field Finals at Charleston.
In Wednesday’s Class 1A Sectional meet hosted by Mercer County at George Pratt Memorial Field in Aledo, Harrell recorded a personal best leap of 6.46-meters (21-feet,
2.50-inches) in claiming the title.
The Spartans finished 14th in team standings with 15 points, while West Prairie finished 17th with five points.
Farmington claimed the team title with a score of 101 points.
