For over 50 years, the St. Paul’s Women’s Guild has been hosting a rummage sale. This year, the rummage sale will take place Friday, May 29 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday, May 30 from 8-11 a.m.. The sale will be held in the St. Paul School Gym, 322 W. Washington Street, Macomb.
Back again this year by popular demand is the Snack Shack where baked goods and edible items are available for purchase. The Snack Shack will be held on one day only; Friday, May 29 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Besides finding a large selection of clothes and shoes, shoppers can browse the table displays for cooking and dining items, home décor, toys, books, furniture, and more. These general items can be purchased through “fill-a-bag” with different prices depending on the size of the bag. There will also be a browse and shop section of individually priced, higher end items.
Much work goes into the advance preparation for the sale involving scores of volunteers to handle all the donations that come in. The sale benefits many in the community who live on a limited budget, as well as those who like the idea of recycling and finding bargains.
Saturday is bargain/half price day when shoppers can fill bags of various sizes and prices. Samples of what constitutes the bag sizes with differing prices will be on display for both sale days. All large items that do not fit in a bag on Saturday will be half-price, including the individually priced items.
