Reviewer’s Name: Carol Clemons Reviewer’s Occupation: Graphic Designer Book Title: The Impossible Fortune (5 of the Thursday Murder Club series) Book’s Author: Richard Osman In the 5th installment we find our favorite senior citizens planning a wedding, grieving a spouse, protecting family members, and providing therapy to criminals.
Joyce’s daughter, Joanna, jumps in to the mystery-solving and becomes closer to her mom. When Elizabeth meets a wedding guest who is in trouble, she is plunged back in to action and decides it feels good to be solving mysteries again. Her friends are glad to see the “old” Elizabeth back and join in to solve a kidnapping and an uncrackable code. I love this series! In this book we go deeper into each character’s life and learn details about their past. The deep love these friends have for each other is a testament to growing old and being open to new adventures. These books are witty and entertaining.
