Spartans, Cyclones Take Part In IESA Class 2A State Track Finals

Athletes from Bushnell- Prairie City and West Prairie headed to Corwin Clatt Field at the Eastside Centre in East Peoria Friday and Saturday to take part in the Illinois Elementary School Association Class 2A State Track and Field Finals.

One local athlete earned a state championship as B-PC eighth grader Zaedin Hart won the shot put with a personal best toss of 15.27-meters (50-feet, 1.25inches).

Results for other athletes from B-PC and West Prairie included the following.

Seventh Grade Girls

Sprint medley relay (200200-400-800) - West Prairie (Josey Parker, Sophie Grigis, Jesslyn Brown and Josie Caho), 19th, five minutes, 30.01 seconds.

4x100 relay - B-PC (Libertie Belles, Cecelia Lorton, Addilyn King and Emma Hyde), fourth, 54.55 (personal best).

Shot put - Gracelyn Ellington, B-PC, ninth, 7.77m (25-6).

Pole vault - King, B-PC, sixth, 2.06m (6-9) (personal best).

Long jump - Hyde, B-PC, 20th, 3.77m (12-4.50).

Eighth Grade Girls Shot put - Hazel Farwell, B-PC, seventh, 8.61m (28-3).

Seventh Grade Boys

110 hurdles - Elijah Rodeffer, B-PC, 10th, 18.75.

4x400 relay - B-PC (Logan Akers, Bryson Raleigh, Hunter Horwedel and Rodeffer), 16th, 4:25.13 (personal best). Sprint medley relay (200-200-400-800) - B-PC (Rodeffer, Liam Faught, Horwedel and Akers), 13th, 4:43.35 (personal best).

Eighth Grade Boys

110 hurdles - Hart, B-PC, 15th, 17.54.

4x100 - B-PC (Horwedel, Hart, Hunter Thompson and Patrick Raines), eighth, 49.84.

Pole vault - Kevin Robinson, B-PC, 15th, 2.52m (8-3.25).

Long jump - Thompson, B-PC, eighth, 5.54m (182.25) (personal best).
