The Macomb High girls soccer team wrapped up its regular season Tuesday, dropping a 4-1 decision at Galesburg to the host Silver Streaks.
The two teams were originally scheduled to play Apr. 2, but the contest was postponed by inclement weather.
Galesburg led 1-0 at halftime.
Freshman Taylor Mann scored for the Bombers. She had two of the team’s four shots. Senior Mariella Rodriguez and freshman Brixley Lidaywa also had one shot each for MHS.
Junior goalkeeper Natasha Lin recorded 20 saves.
Freshman Haleigh Jezek-Irle scored three goals and recorded an assist for Galesburg (10-9-1).
Sophomore Grace Hansen added a goal and an assist, while classmate Addison McCurry also had an assist.
Macomb (3-9-2) will open Illinois High School Association Class 1A Regional play on Monday, heading to Princeton to face the Tigers (16-6).
MHS is the No. 5 seed, while Princeton is the No. 3 seed.
The victor advances to the regional final on May 22 at Princeton, facing topseeded Rock Island Alleman (10-7-0).
The regional champion advances to sectional play at Rock Island Alleman on May 26, joining regional champions from Bloomington Central Catholic, Geneseo and Illinois Valley Central (Chillicothe).
The sectional title match is scheduled for May 29.
JV play saw MHS edge Galesburg 2-1 with Mann scoring both goals for the Bombers.
