On Tuesday, May 5th the Macomb Police Explorers Post #4044 held its Spring awards ceremony, honoring several members for their outstanding achievements during the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters. During these semesters, Explorers completed 54 training hours and participated in 15 community service events. Awards earned included: Letter of Commendation, Physical Fitness, Perfect Attendance, Tenure, Explorer Achievement Medal, and Explorer of the Year.
Explorer Sergeant Alexis Navarro received the 2026 title of Explorer of the Year for her remarkable performance, professional attitude, and continued dedication to the Post. Squad one, which is run my Navarro, was also awarded the Intramural Competition Star for winning the 2026 Intramural Competition, which was held on May 2nd, 2026.
Explorer Corporals Parker Gay and Madison McGrew were both promoted to the rank of Explorer Sergeant. Explorers Aalyhna Hickman and Braden Shepka were both promoted to the rank of Explorer Corporal.
The Macomb Police Explorer Program is a hands-on training program for youth and young adults, ages 14 to 20, interested in law enforcement. This program enables young people to develop marketable leadership skills, emphasizes the importance of community service, and provides an environment based on teamwork.
