Karen D. Snowden, 66, of Industry passed away at 3:31 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born on September 19, 1959 in Macomb to Jerry and Mary Switzer Teel.
She is survived by a daughter, Amber (Michael) Simpson of Lafayette, Indiana; one grandson, Ethan Simpson of Lafayette, Indiana; one brother, Rick Teel; several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Randall Teel.
Karen lived in Industry most of her life. She received her LPN degree from Spoon River College. She worked at Walmart for 40 years before her retirement.
Karen’s legacy was never measured in career achievements or titles. She did not seek social recognition or accolades. Her legacy lives instead in the deep love and devotion she gave to her family. She will be remembered for her strength through profound loss, through countless health battles, and for the many sacrifices she made for those she loved most.
A caregiver through and through, her favorite titles were Grandma, Mother, and annoying little sister. Of all the roles she held in life, being a grandma brought her the greatest joy. The Cubs were a very close second.
Karen carried so much for so many throughout her life. Even the strongest hearts need a rest Cremation rites have been accorded. Private graveside services will be held at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to the Easter Seals Association, Peoria Chapter.
