We Are Community...

Today is Mother’s Day. A day that we celebrate all women because even if they have not given birth, they have undoubtedly nurtured children or animals. I hope you were able to celebrate with your mom or do something special.

The service of remembrance for Bruce Morton was held at the Ebenezer Chapel on Saturday. I often drive by the Ebenezer Chapel near Rushville but this one is in Adams County. The service was very nice and I think Bruce would have approved. I grew up in a one room country church-Friendship United Methodist Church just north of Tennessee. It had burned and been rebuilt three times.

Ebenezer is completely original. The seating is amazing. There is a center partition into which the seats fit from each side.

One the outside of these seats is another row of wooden seats.

In the middle, they face each other. There is a Memorial Day service at this chapel every year. As I taught in Adams County, I recognized many of the family names in the cemetery and even one teacher with whom I taught. I plan to attend the Memorial Day service as the chapel is just amazing and I would love to see it in use once again.
