Members of the Bushnell-Prairie City and West Prairie Middle School track and field teams have earned berths for next week’s Illinois Elementary School Association Class 2A State Track Finals.
The spots were earned at Saturday’s IESA Class 2A Sectional 10 meet hosted by B-PC in Bushnell.
Those athletes winning events, along with those meeting or exceeding qualifying standards in their respective events as set by IESA, qualify for the state finals scheduled for May 15-16 at Corwin Clatt Field at the Eastside Centre in East Peoria.
Those athletes from B-PC and West Prairie qualifying for the state finals include the following: Seventh Grade Girls
Sprint medley relay (200-200-400-800) - West Prairie (Josey Parker, Sophie Grigis, Jesslyn Brown and Josie Caho), second, four minutes, 57.12 seconds.
4x100 relay - B-PC (Libertie Belles, Cecelia Lorton, Addilyn King and Emma Hyde), first, 55.95.
Shot put - Gracelyn Ellington, B-PC, first, 7.76-meters (35-feet, 5.50-inches).
Pole vault - King, B-PC, first, 1.98m (6-6). Log jump - Hyde, B-PC, second, 4.49m (14-8.75).
Eighth Grade Girls
Shot put - Hazel Farwell, B-PC, first, 8.57m (28-1.50).
Seventh Grade Boys
110 hurdles - Elijah Rodeffer, B-PC, second, 18.57.
4x400 relay - B-PC (Logan Akers, Bryson Raleigh, Hunter Horwedel and Rodeffer), first, 4:31.24.
Sprint medley relay (200-200-400-800) - B-PC (Rodeffer, Liam Faught, Horwedel and Akers), second, 4:45.85.
Eighth Grade Boys
110 hurdles - Zaedin Hart, B-PC, third, 16.89.
4x100 - B-PC (Horwedel, Hart, Hunter Thompson and Patrick Raines), second, 49.81.
Shot put - Hart, B-PC, first, 14.49m (47-6.50). Pole vault - Kevin Robinson, B-PC, second, 2.79m (9-1.75).
Long jump - Thompson, B-PC, first, 5.37m (17-7.50).
