In a light session, Monday, May 4, the Colchester City Council approved payment of $53,800 to Pittsburg Tank & Tower Group as downpayment for the painting of the city water tower. The amount represents half of the contracted cost.
The first item on the agenda was a presentation from JoAnn Hairston-Jones about the history of the countywide glass recycling program. She also asked for a $350 annual donation from the city to help support the program, but no action was taken at this time.
A list of mayoral appointments was presented, designating chairs and members of the various city committees as well as elected officials, appointees, and department heads.
