8th Graders
Looking back: What moment will you never forget?
A moment from this school year I will never forget is when I was at the IESA State Cheer competition and we hit 0 on our rating. That means we did everything right and nobody fell or messed up. I will remember this because we worked 9 months as a team trying to perfect all of our skills, stunts, and tumbling.
This moment was so special to me and all of my other teammates. Emma R.
One moment from the school year I will never forget was when the 8th grade volleyball team beat Quincy at a home game. For reference, Quincy is one of the best volleyball schools in our area, so beating them on our home turf was like a dream come true! It happened at the Macomb Middle School gym in February. It was a very tough game, but the 9th grade team led to victory! It was a great accomplishment, and I will cherish it in my heart forever. Emery M.
Meeting teachers for the first time when I transferred. I was scared but excited because this school is way bigger than my old school. I’m glad I met them since they helped me pass 8th grade. They helped me overcome my fears and long-term graduation goals without being here all school year. Brysen S.
The moment I will never forget this school year is going to State for wrestling because all of my hard work, effort, and determination to strive and be good at this sport paid off. I met some amazing people and learned skills that I will never forget. Jump start what I want to become when I grow up and that’s a National Olympic Level Wrestler. Sebastian When I transferred here, I made many friends and nice teachers. I will never forget because it was so heart warming and felt good to have actual relationships as friends and good teachers I can count on. Garryona I will never forget my dear social worker, Mrs.
Draughan. She always checks on me and made sure I was on track. I am always happy to see her. Addy H.
The moment in this school year that I will never forget is the Winter Olympics. In the winter Olympics I was Sweeden.
Since we were Sweeden we got to color flags, decorate the class, and we got ot pick what events we wanted to do. I got to do two events; one was a bag toss, and one was speed skating. Those two events were very fun and challenging. Now, I did not win either of my events, but I had so much fun. The reason I will never forget this day is because, we got to skip work and got to have lots of fun. Morgan T.
The time that I will never forget will be the time I was going to drama class.
Drama, it made me feel like I was in pure heaven because drama was a place where my art and love for acting can be seen. Sunday B.
One moment of this school year I will never forget is taking my first final. The whole first semester while I was sitting in math class I was wondering how I was going to remember all this stuff for the big test. The stakes were high because this was the first grade that was going on my high school transcript.
Once I was in class for final day, Mrs. Stufflebeam, had treats for us. During the test I was calm, cool, and collected. After the final was over, I was relieved and realized it wasn’t that bad.
One moment from this school year that I will always remember was when I took my first final ever. Rylynn S.
One thing about the school year that I will never forget is getting all of my grades up and stop getting in trouble. Lucus One moment that I won’t forget from this school year is when school first started, till now. It is nothing special happened, but my grades weren’t good and I would always get in trouble. I’ve lost many close friends, and I can say that gave me a lot of motivation to really start my character development.
I surrounded myself with things and people that I like and that I know is good for me. 8th grade really changed me a lot, not only because I’m getting older, but a lot of things happened this year.
Having weird friends and a down moment helped me turn into the person I am today. Wynter H.
A moment I will never forget about this school year is when I was cheering at a boys basketball game against Bushnell. I will never forget this because just the energy in the gym was different.
The crowd was so loud, our student section was crazy and loud, and everyone was cheering. Bushnell is like our school rivalry, and we won it was overall an unforgettable game. Kaylea C.
I will never forget the first day of school. It was third hour, my first day in FFA. I was never big into agriculture until this year. I thought it was only farming and livestock, but over the span of the last year I have realized it’s so much more. Everyone in Ag has welcomed me and showed great kindness.
It has opened up so many great ideas and great opportunities. I am so lucky to be able to say I am part of the FFA. Bradley W.
