WEEKLY SELF-CARE COLUMN
Is your summer ahead looking bland and dull this year?
Picking up a new hobby can help alleviate some of the stress and boredom.
I will give five hobbies for each category: Intellectual, Creative and Activity.
Intellectual hobbies are those that engage the mind.
Examples of these include reading a self-help or informative book. Writing fiction or poetry. Coding and robotics.
Solving puzzles or crossword games and the sort.
Creative hobbies are ones that involve creating something and engaging the creative part of our minds. Examples can include art forms such as painting, drawing, resin crafting or pottery. Upcycling old clothes and decorating things.
Homemade gifts are fun and easy, you can find many ideas online such as jewelry and origami.
Active hobbies are things that keep you physically active.
Examples include running and walking, swimming, yoga and roller blading.
There are many other hobbies to try in each of these categories and many others. Hobbies are a very subjective thing, it is usually best to try many different things and stick with what you enjoy most.
Happy Summer Hobbying!
