Irwin Lee Gooden

76, of Macomb

Irwin Lee Gooden, 76, of Macomb passed away at 12:35 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2026 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

He was born on July 27, 1949 in LaHarpe to Harry and Dora Allen Gooden. He married Carolyn Rouse on February 12, 1977. She passed away om March 31, 1993.

He is also preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are two children, Amber (Roger) Bilderback of Colchester and Wesley (BriTtany) Gooden of Macomb; five grandchildren, Tabby Bilderback, Koby Gooden, Alydia Gooden, Jamisen Gooden and Rana Gooden; two brothers and four sisters.

Irwin lived in Macomb all of his life. He worked at Webster Industries for many years and for Aeyrco West gas station for twenty years.

He served in the US Army from 1969 to 1970. He was a member of the Macomb American Legion and Macomb VFW.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Private family graveside services will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday May 7, 2026 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb.

Memorials may be made to the Macomb American Legion or the Macomb VFW.
