Spartan Baseball Blanked By Wildcats

The Bushnell-Prairie City High School baseball team opened a new week by dropping a 10-0, six-inning decision to Galva Tuesday afternoon.

The host Wildcats grabbed control early, scoring seven runs in the opening inning.

Galva added a single run in the fifth before closing out the contest with two runs in the bottom of the sixth.

The Wildcats out-hit the Spartans 11-4 with B-PC also committing four errors.

Miles Strode had two hits for B-PC, while Dylan King and Landon Ferguson added one hit each.

Ethan Hyde pitched 3.1 innings, allowing seven earned runs on seven hits. He struck out two, walked three and hit two batters.

Alex Kohler pitched two innings, allowing two earned runs on two hits. He struck out one and walked three.

King pitched one-third of an inning, allowing one unearned run on two hits with one walk.

MJ Louck had three hits, including a pair of doubles for Galva (5-7).

Ty Dowell-Keup had two hits, including a double, with two runs batted in, while Blake Stahl also doubled, knocking in two runs for the Wildcats.

AJ Traff had two runs batted in, while JP Sloan had two hits for the hosts.

B-PC (0-19) is scheduled to return to action Friday, facing Midwest Central (6-7) at Manito.

On Saturday, the Spartans return to Prairieland Conference play, facing Macomb (12-7, 1-3 Prairieland) at Phil Bradley Field.

B-PC is currently 0-4 in league play.
