83, of Quincy, formerly of Macomb and Good Hope
Frederick Hotto, Jr, 83, of Quincy, formerly of Macomb and Good Hope passed away at 2:54 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Quincy Healthcare and Senior Living Center in Quincy.
He was born on December 5, 1942 in Granite City, Illinois to Frederick and Mary Miller Hotto, Sr.
He is survived by his children, Mary (Danny) Cole of Plainville, IL, Robert (Stephanie) Hotto of Macomb and Patricia (Bradley) Phillips of Plymouth; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters, Roberta Kinder and Patrica Baker and one brother, Carl Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Robert Jones.
Frederick lived most of his life in Macomb and Good Hope before moving to Quincy. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and gardening. He worked as a dairy farmer in his early life. He also worked as a garbage truck driver and shoed horses. He later at Wells Fargo as a Security Guard, owned a construction business, worked at a foundry, and a Shoe Factory, was a farmer and a farm hand and was an orderly at a State Hospital. Frederick was raised by his step-father, Robert Jones from the age of 2 and went by Frederick Jones until he entered the service.
He was an Army veteran and was discharged in 1962. Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 1 p.m. at Good Hope Cemetery in Good Hope, IL with Justin Kinder officiating. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to the Frederick Hotto Memorial Fund.
