Spoon River College’s Macomb Outreach Center at 2500 E. Jackson St. will present “Hidden Routes, Heroic Lives – Local Stories from the Underground Railroad” from 5:30-7 p.m., Wednesday, April 29.
This class uncovers the hidden local routes of the Underground Railroad and the courageous individuals who traveled them. Participants will explore personal stories, regional safe houses and the networks that made these journeys possible. Together, we’ll examine how ordinary community members became extraordinary heroes in the fight for freedom. There is a $10 fee to attend and pre-registration is required.
