To the Editor:
April 22 is Earth Day, celebrated since 1970 in spite of the current occupant of the White House. While he denies the reality of climate change (global warming), it is a scientific fact, driven mainly by the high (and increasing) level of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere. Whenever one 'burns' anything, it adds to the level.
I guess some people think global warming is a good thing, despite deaths from heat waves, intense storms, sea level rise, and wildfires. Why else would the young 'toughs' speed by Chandler Park in their gas-guzzling pick-ups, spewing black smoke, polluting our air, violating the Clean Air Act, and showing their support for our, in my opinion, mentally-ill president? They apparently learned enough to get a drivers license, but NOT enough to discern fact from fiction!
When will they grow up and do their part to protect our environment, rather than abuse it? THIS YEAR would be a GREAT time!
