Reviewer’s Name: Carol Clemons Reviewer’s Occupation: Graphic Designer Book Title: The Scientist and the Serial Killer: the Search for Houston’s Lost Boys Book’s Author: Lisa Olsen Between 1971 and 1973, more than 27 teenage boys disappeared from the neighborhoods of Houston. Most of the boys were labeled as “runaways”. It was not until he was killed by one of the teens he abused and brainwashed, Dean Corrll became a nation-wide story and the bodies of young boys and men were unearthed in shallow graves. Decades later, forensic anthropologist Sharon Derrick found a box labeled “1973 Murders” in the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office. After years of work and research, Derrick managed to identify all but one, “Swimsuit Boy”, of the Lost Boys.

Naming the remains of victims is important not only to the friends and family of the missing, but to all of humanity.

These people deserve to be given their name and dignity back and given back to the family and be laid to rest.
