McDonough County Emergency Services and Disaster Agency (ESDA) are asking county residents who experienced damage from the severe storms that swept through the region Friday evening to complete a storm assessment survey.
The survey can be found at tinyurl.com/ StormAssessmentSurveyApril2026. According to ESDA Director Edgar Rodriguez, the voluntary survey will collect information on disaster damages to guide next steps.
An EF1 tornado was officially confirmed by the National Weather Service north of Colmar. The storm also caused numerous power outages in the county. A Facebook post from McDonough Power Cooperative shared that the 'severe storm caused significant damage across the southern portion of our service territory, resulting in approximately 500 outages .... '
