Artha Jane Kearby, 92, of Macomb passed away at 2:51 P.M. on Monday, April 13, 2026 at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
She was born on January 24, 1934 in Industry to Arthur and Adeline M. Jones (D’Camp). She married Arnold Kearby on March 7, 1953 . He passed away in 1968.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Brenda Jones and Marjorie Erickson (Jones); two brothers, John Jones and Charles Jones; one nephew, Randy Erickson, and one great-niece, Lindsay Erickson.
She is survived by three nephews, Stan Erickson, Ryan Erickson and Rudy Erickson and two nieces, Jill Erickson Haupt and Kim Jones Brocker.
Artha Jane lived most of her life in the Industry area. She attended Industry schools and graduated from Industry High School. She worked for the State Bank of Industry for decades and retired from the State Bank of Industry in 1998. She was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and sports fan of basketball, football and hockey. She enjoyed gardening and was dedicated to caring for family and friends. She had a special love for animals and enjoyed her dogs through the years.
Graveside services for Artha Jane and her sister, Brenda Jones, will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Industry Cemetery with Pastor Randy Burwell officiating. There will be no visitation.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made as donations to the Humane Society of McDonough County New Animal Shelter, at P.O. Box 7, Macomb, IL 61455.
