Greg and Jennifer Harl, from Niota, Illinois, bought out another popcorn dealer two years ago and will soon be a full time fixture at the Macomb Summer Farmers Market.
Both of the Harls are semi-retired and were looking for a way to fill their time and make a little extra money.
They now have a full schedule that is growing every day, including Freedomfest in Quincy, Heritage Days in Macomb, the Pumpkin Walk in Nauvoo, Colchester Labor Day Celebration and Hamilton’s Summerfest.
There is one gesture that makes Just Poppin stand out at any event. Greg and Jennifer want to pay our veterans back somehow, so they decided that every veteran who comes to their booth will receive a free bag of kettle korn.
Harl’s prices range from $5 to $8 a bag, depending on size. On special occasions such as Fourth of July they will sell specialty kettle korn in red, white and blue.
