The Western Illinois University School of Agriculture Professional Agricultural Students (PAS) recently competed at the 2026 National PAS Conference, with its members, including two local students, bringing home top honors.
Junior Jayson Kuzniar of Canton, along with Senior Laila Beck of Arenzville, were named National Cornhole Champions, while West Prairie High School Graduate Adam Vail of Tennessee earned first place in Career Planning-Agricultural Education Systems and third place in Individual Prepared Speaking. Kuzniar also placed 10th in the Individual Agronomy Specialist category.
The Agronomy Team, which includes Vail, Kuzniar and Beck, placed fifth overall, with the College Bowl Team, again including area students Vail, Kuzniar and Beck, placed among the top five teams.
