The Bushnell Woman’s Club met Monday, April 13, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at Tellers. John Curtis with Giving Gardens presented the program. At Giving Gardens they strengthen communities by creating gardens in underused spaces into high yield, public access gardens. With the help of volunteers they design, build, and maintain gardens where anyone can harvest fresh vegetables, berries, herbs and flowers.
After the program, the hostesses, Carol Anderson, Linda Raby and Beth Pierce served chocolate dessert, chex mix, fresh fruit and cheese.
JoEllen Pensinger, president, called the meeting to order. Fourteen ladies answered roll call to “What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?” Ashton Mahr was welcomed as a new member. The minutes and treasure reports were accepted and approved as given.
Committee reports were given. Jane Zarello announced the summer reading program will begin the first of June. Preschool and Kindergarten will be on Tuesday and older children on Wednesday. The theme will be “Plant, Seed, Read”. Karen Jackson reported the May outing will be held May 7, 2026. The ladies are to meet at 4:00 p.m. at the Bushnell Historical Society and then go to Rosy’s at 5:00 p.m. for dinner. After dinner, those who want to watch the movie “The Devil Wears Prada 2” is at the Macomb theatre.
Vicki Reimolds presented the new slate of officers for the 26/27 year: JoEllen Pensinger, President’ Karen Cameron, Vice President; Ruth Ann McGrew, Treasurer; and Jada Wetzel, Secretary.
The ladies signed up to be RR track supervisors for the Bushnell May Play Days (April 30 - May 2). JoEllen also presented sheets for the ladies to sign up for hostessing, serving on committees, program ideas and May outing ideas.
The ladies are going to be meeting at the Bushnell Library next year instead of Tellers. They felt since their main goal is supporting the library, they should be meeting there.
Next meeting after the May outing, will be September 8, 2026 at the Rotary Shelter house in the Bushnell City Park. It will be a “brown bag” event with the hostesses providing dessert and water.
Respectfully submitted Jada Wetzel, Secretary
