The West Prairie/Southeastern High School softball team is still looking for its first after dropping a pair of contests this week.
On Tuesday, the Cyclones headed to Vermont for a Prairieland Conference contest against host South Fulton.
In a battle of two teams looking for their first win, the host Rebels scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to rally for a 12-11 victory.
The Cyclones scored twice in the first inning before South Fulton tallied single runs in the first, third and fourth innings in taking a 3-2 lead.
The final three innings saw each team score nine runs.
WP/SE (0-4 Prairieland) scored four runs in the top of the inning and SFR two runs in the bottom, giving the Cyclones a 6-5 lead.
The sixth inning saw the Cyclones score twice before the Rebels scored four times in taking a 9-8 lead.
WP/SE scored three times in the top of the seventh to retake the lead at 11-9.
But South Fulton rallied with two outs in their final at-bat.
The Rebels used a single, hit batter and walk to load the bases before Preslea Parker delivered a bases-clearing triple to right on a 3-2 pitch to bring home the decisive runs.
South Fulton out-hit WP/SE 13-8 with both teams committing two errors.
Ella Tippey had three hits, including a pair of doubles for WP/SE. She scored three runs and knocked in two more.
Tegan Rigg had two hits, including a triple with two runs scored and two batted in.
Morgan Simmons added a double with two RBIs, while Addalyn Stanberry, Adrianna Starks and Maicyn Shipman added one run batted in apiece.
In the circle, Arianna Soule went the distance in taking the tough-luck loss.
In 6.2 innings, she allowed 12 runs, 10 earned, on 13 hits. She struck out 10. walked six and hit a batter.
Soule threw 145 pitches, 91 for strikes. In addition to her triple, Parker also had two doubles, knocking in four runs.
Dixie Chenoweth added two hits with three RBIs, also scoring three times.
Lily Lehman and Lainey Malott knocked in two runs each with Shelby Heller also recording a run batted in.
Madalyn Carlock had two hits, scoring four runs from her lead-off spot, while Chloe Sutton added three hits, scoring twice for SFR (1-6, 1-0 Prairieland).
Malott pitched 4.1 innings, allowing six runs, five earned, on four hits. She struck out three, walked four and hit two batters.
Sutton pitched 2.2 innings, allowing five earned runs on four hits. She struck out two, walked three and hit a batter.
On Wednesday, the Cyclones headed to Mendon for a non-conference contest against host Unity.
A five-run second inning propelled the Mustangs to a 12-2 win in six innings.
WP/SE slipped to 0-7 on the season, while Unity improved to 1-5.
The Cyclones scored single runs in the third and sixth innings, finishing the contest with three hits and six errors that led to nine unearned runs.
Unity added a single run in the fourth before scoring four runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth to close out the contest.
Sara Shelton doubled for WP/SE, with Shipman adding a hit and a run batted in for the Cyclones.
Tippey had a hit and a run scored, while Starks also scored a run for the Cyclones.
Soule pitched 5.2 innings, allowing 12 runs, just three earned, on 14 hits. She struck out 10, walked two and hit a batter.
Jillian Shaffer had three hits, including a double, knocking in four runs for Unity.
Savannah Kretzer added two hits and three RBIS with two runs scored, while Adison Spilker had two hits and two runs batted in for the Mustangs.
Savannah Zanger added three hits, scoring four runs from her No. 9 spot in the batting order.
Spilker pitched six innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on three hits. She struck out seven and walked six.
The Cyclones were scheduled to return to Prairie play Thursday, hosting LVC (5-5, 2-1 Prairieland) at Colchester.
On Friday WP/SE was slated to host Monmouth-Roseville (3-5) at Bowen.
