The Bushnell-Prairie City High School baseball team is still searching for its first win of the season after dropping a pair of home contests this week.
On Monday afternoon, the Spartans hosted Princeville for non-conference play.
B-PC led 2-1 after the opening inning, but the Princes scored in four of the final six innings to notch a 7-2 victory.
In addition to scoring once in the first, Princeville (4-4) added single runs in the second and third innings in taking a 3-2 lead.
The visitors then took control by plating three runs in the fifth before adding a single tally in the top of the seventh.
Princeville out-hit B-PC 6-4 with the Spartans also committing five errors that led to three unearned.
The Spartans scored in their first at-bat.
Connor Palm singled to center before Thomas Anderson was hit by a pitch. Dylan King was also hit by a pitch that loaded the bases.
Palm scored when Miles Strode grounded into a double play with Anderson moving to third. Anderson then scored on a wild pitch that gave the Spartans a 2-1 lead.
But Princeville kept pecking away, adding on runs throughout the remainder of the contest.
Palm had two hits and a run scored for B-PC, while Anderson also had a hit and a run scored.
Landon Ferguson had B-PC’s final hit.
Palm pitched five innings, allowing six runs, three earned, on five hits. He struck out five and walked three. Palm threw 96 pitches, 60 for strikes.
Alex Kohler pitched the final two innings, allowing one earned run on one hit. He struck out two and walked one. Kohler threw 27 pitches, 16 for strikes.
Cayden Allen recorded three, including a double with three runs batted in for Princeville.
Hunter Johnson and Cooper Cox each added a hit and a run batted in, while Edo Arnett also knocked in a run.
Arnett and Coley Palmer each scored twice for the Princes.
Palmer threw five innings, allowing two earned runs on two hits. He struck out seven, walked two and hit two batters.
Arnett pitched the final two innings, allowing two hits and two waks, striking out three.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Spartans hosted Monmouth-Roseville for a non-conference contest.
The Titans used an eightrun fifth inning to grab control on the way to recording a 16-6 victory in six innings.
Monmouth-Roseville improved to 3-4 on the season, while B-PC slipped to 0-9.
The contest was tied 3-3 after two innings before MRHS scored four runs in the top of the third to grab a 7-3 lead.
B-PC answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth to cut the deficit to 7-5.
But the Titans erupted for eight runs in their next at-bat, seven coming after two were out. The inning included five hits, four walks and two hit batters as the MRHS ballooned to 15-5.
The Spartans scored once in the bottom of the fifth to remain in the contest, but the Titans scored a single tally the next inning on the way to closing out the game.
Monmouth-Roseville out-hit B-PC 14-7 with the Titans committing four errors, compared to three for B-PC.
Connor Palm singled, doubled and tripled in four at-bats for B-PC, scoring twice.
Dylan King had two hits, including a double, with three runs batted in. Thomas Anderson scored twice, while Miles Strode doubled, scoring a run.
Jaydn Robinson also scored a run for the Spartans.
B-PC used four pitchers.
Anderson took the loss, allowing seven runs, three earned, on six hits in three innings. He struck out two, walked two and hit four batters.
Alex Kohler allowed six earned runs on five hits in 1.2 innings. He struck out three and walked two.
King allowed two runs on one hit with two walks and two hit batters.
Braxton Kempf allowed one run on two hits with three strikeouts in 1.1 innings.
Elijah Noel had three hits, including a pair of doubles for MRHS. He also scored twice.
Andrew Way had two hits, including a double, with two RBIs, while Cee Sarcomo and Ladyn Angelo added two hits and one run batted in each.
Sarcomo and Tyler Carlsonscored three runs each for the Titans, while Elliot Rogers scored twice.
On the mound, Cal Casteel pitched 3.2 innings, allowing five runs, three earned, on six hits. He struck out seven, walked one and hit two batters.
Kane Johnson pitched the final 2.1 innings, allowing one unearned run on one hit. He struck out five and walked one.
The Spartans are slated to return to action Friday, facing West Hancock (6-4) at Hamilton.
On Saturday, B-PC returns to Prairieland Conference play against Brimfield/ Elmwood (6-1, 0-0 Prairieland) at Brimfield.
