93, of Industry
Hiroko Greuel, 93, of Industry, IL passed away at 6:29 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at the Lamoine in Macomb.
Hiroko was born in Otaru, Japan, one of many children where she met her loving husband, Wayne Greuel. They got married on a boat coming back to the states and lived in Bushnell, IL for a while, then moved to Industry, Il.
Survivors include her children Nancy DeRosier of Des Peres, Missouri, Jack (Charlene) Greuel of Macomb and Barbara Greuel of St. Charles, Missouri; two grandchildren, Nicholas Gibbs and Natalie (Tivis) Landers both of St Louis, Missouri and one great-grandson, Corbin Landers of St. Louis, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by loving husband, Wayne Greuel, her siblings and parents.
Hiroko was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed entertaining, hosting parties, and painting on canvas. She was a very sophisticated lady that took a lot of pride in her Japanese heritage. She loved telling stories of her life in Japan. She was a lovely lady that always enlightened a room.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Pastor Randy Burwell officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Industry Cemetery.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Lamoine Memory Care.
