We Are Community...

Today is Easter. Easter gives us hope for a new beginning after this life. I have mentioned before that when we are in the womb, that we probably cannot imagine life outside there, then we are born. If we are lucky, we have a long happy life on this earth and after that there certainly is the possibility of a whole new different life. The men of Living Faith fixed breakfast for all those at church services this morning. We enjoyed biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, bacon, fresh fruit and wonderful cinnamon rolls plus drinks. It was very much appreciated!

After church headed to Macomb for lunch with my two nephews and one’s wife. Our restaurant of choice was not open so we wandered until we found one that was. Got a chocolate bunny and broke his ears off like in the cartoon strip then shared the rest of him with family.

April started out very nicely. Wesley Village has a Legacy dinner each year and I was invited. The food was wonderful. I am always interested to learn what is changing at Wesley.

One of the floors is currently being changed to assisted living. I am so glad that they offer a variety of living options. You can have a house, an apartment, now an assisted living apartment, a room or there is even a wing for memory care.

So nice to have options if one needs them. At Christmas time I always have a tree put up in memory of Ben and now my niece, Marcella also.

Would like to let all of A J Johnsons friends know that she has moved to the Elms in Macomb so it will be easier to visit her now.

Was trying to get some of the leaves out of the fish pond when I noticed that one of my rings was gone. Did not panic and carefully started moving leaves and found it almost immediately. Was very happy as it was a ring given to me by my late husband.

I love my phone. Use it every day. Use it for business and pleasure too. I can take credit cards both at the store and at shows with the Clover app. Friends also use it to text me every day. Can’t tell them just how much I appreciate those texts! If you live alone or know someone who does, you might want to start a text chain too. It could also be a life saver.

Kelso had an antique auction on Saturday. They had fabulous things for sale and the prices showed that. The Bruce Morton Estate was one of the consigners. I got some of his photos and some of his books on Forgottonia. The books will be available at my store if you do not have one yet.

Prices were very strong. There were more quilts than I have ever seen at one sale and I did not get even one of them.

I don’t like storms and several have been predicted this week though we pretty much missed the bad ones. We did get some much-needed rain. I am ready for a more peaceful spring. My spring flowers had a lot of freeze damage and don’t know if the peach blossoms froze or not as yet.

Hope you had a great Easter. Scatter Kindness and Love.
