B-PC Softball Blanked By Knoxville

The Bushnell-Prairie City High School softball squad slipped to 0-5 on the season after dropping a 15-0, four-inning decision to visiting Knoxville Tuesday afternoon.

After scoring once in the first inning, Knoxville (3-3) scored four runs in the second, seven in the third and three more in the fourth.

The Blue Bullets finished with eight hits. Knoxville also took advantage of six B-PC errors that led to eight unearned runs.

B-PC was held hitless and had just three baserunners in the contest.

Tori Singleton reached on a passed ball after striking out in the first inning. In the second inning Natalie Willey reached on an error with one out before Triniti Williams walked with two outs.

Jayden Johnson pitched three innings for B-PC. She allowed 12 runs, six earned, on six hits. Johnson struck out two, walked five and hit a batter.

Williams pitched one inning, allowing three runs, one earned, on two hits with one walk.

Natalie Harshbarger had two hits, including a double, scoring four runs for Knoxville. She was also the winning pitcher, striking out eight and walking one in four innings.

Aubree Givan and Caylee Brown also doubled for Knoxville. Kyra Brooks scored three runs, while Brynn Tanner and Aubrey Jones both scored twice for the visitors.

B-PC, 0-2 in Prairieland Conference play, was slated to host West Prairie/Southeastern (0-5, 0-3 Prairieland) on Saturday. But that contest has been canceled and will be rescheduled.

The Spartans are now next scheduled to face Abingdon-Avon (1-3) in non-conference play on Monday.
