Reviewer’s Name: Rooney Dively Reviewer’s Occupation: Retired Book Title: America’s Forgotten First Ladies Book’s Author: James Gardner This a really good book to take with you if you are traveling. It is organized with short chapters, so if you’re reading it and you are interrupted by something, you don’t have to go back for ten minutes to find where you were reading when you were interrupted. The stories are very surprising. Many of the ladies were not wives of the presidents. Twenty-eight of the first 71 ladies were not even recorded on official lists of First Ladies. I enjoyed reading this book. The strong, independent women described in the book were important in their times and were capable of helping the presidents and our country grow well. I think they are heroines. I’m glad they finally were presented in a book that kept us reading so that they can finally be honored. I think you would like it too.
