Missouri Man Arrested on Weapons, Other Charges After Road Rage Incident

An apparent road rage incident on East Jackson Street in Macomb on March 19 led to multiple charges against an O'Fallon, MO man who was passing through town.

Around 5:30 p.m., March 19, Macomb police were called to the Walgreens parking lot on East Jackson Street for a report of an altercation between two drivers. According to Interim Police Chief Todd Tedrow, another driver had followed Tyler Shadow, 27, into the lot under the guise of getting Shadow's license plate following an alleged incident on the east side of town. When Shadow stepped out of the car, Tedrow said he allegedly alluded to having a weapon, and then allegedly showed a concealed pistol in his waistband. Shadow holds a concealed carry permit from Missouri; however, that permit does not allow for concealed carry in Illinois, the chief explained.

Shadow received several citations, including unlawful blackjack/knife (two knives and brass knuckles in the vehicle); three counts of possession of a firearm (a folding rifle and pistol were also found in the vehicle); two counts of aggravated assault (for displaying the weapon); unlawful possession of cannabis; expired driver's license; and disorderly conduct. He was released following his arrest as the alleged offenses are not detainable under the Safe-T-Act. Shadow must appear in McDonough County Circuit Court on the charges at 9 a.m., April 20.
